The bag-yield figures behind that last row are this tool's stated assumptions, and they change depending on which material you pick, so read them carefully rather than assuming one number covers all three: a standard bag of bark mulch is assumed to hold about 2 cubic feet, a 50 lb bag of gravel or decorative stone is assumed to hold about 0.5 cubic feet, and a 40 lb bag of garden or topsoil is assumed to hold about 0.75 cubic feet. These are common retail bag sizes, not universal constants — some suppliers sell mulch in smaller 2 cubic foot bags and others in larger compressed bales, and gravel bag weights vary by stone type and density, so treat the bag count as a solid planning estimate and check the actual bag size printed at whichever store you're buying from if the count needs to be exact.
